Controls & Automation Engineer (Local Support – Qatar)
 
Role Overview: The selected candidate will undergo specialized training by the OEM, TRI-SEN, and will provide local technical support for high-integrity control systems installed at customer sites in Qatar.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform loop checking from field devices and I/O modules up to the HMI/operator interface.
  • Perform loop checking from field instruments/terminals into the PLC environment.
  • Verify communication and functionality with serial interfaces, hardware interfaces, OPC systems, and associated control logic.
  • Carry out verification from the PLC towards the DCS through Modbus communication.
  • Assist in commissioning, troubleshooting, testing, and validation of control systems.
  • Support tuning and optimization of PID control loops, ranging from straightforward loops to more complex applications.
  • Provide on-site support during shutdowns, start-ups, and emergency situations.
  • Coordinate closely with the OEM engineering team and act as their local extension.
 
Main Control Platforms:
  • Triconex Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
  • Siemens PLC and HMI Systems.
 
Candidate Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering (Automation), or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial control and automation systems.
  • Basic understanding of HMI development and PLC programming.
  • Experience in loop checking, control logic troubleshooting, commissioning activities, and industrial communication systems.
  • Hands-on experience with field-to-PLC signal verification and PLC-to-DCS integration using Modbus communication is preferred.
  • Exposure to Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, or Power industries is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with PID tuning and industrial communication interfaces would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to Triconex and Siemens systems is highly desirable; however, OEM-specific training will be provided.
  • Strong analytical skills, willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in high-responsibility environments.
